Nowadays, we all depend on ready-made hair and body care products. Because who wants to take the pain of collecting the ingredients and making it into a pack, shampoo or mask. So we all end up using the shampoos which are easily available in the market. They are very easy to use on the go. But on the other side, they are loaded with chemicals that will ruin our hair and scalp in the longer run.
I too have developed some scalp (dandruff) and hair (dry and frizzy) issues over time, which are hard to take care of. People I meet all have some or the other problem about the health of their hair or scalp.
COMMON HAIR PROBLEMS – Grey hair, Damaged hair, Hair loss, Greasy/Oily hair, Dull and lifeless hair the list is endless.
But I recently came across a product (BACK TO BASICS) that solves almost all the problems we face with our scalp or hair. Although shifting to natural hair care is difficult but trust me it’s so worth it. Natural hair care requires more time and your hair may behave strangely (dry or tangled) initially. It is the transition phase of the big shift. Please don’t be scared to use it. Organic Amla (Indian Gooseberry )
A common reason for hair problems is a deficiency of vitamin C, which is found abundantly in Amla. Strengthen hair follicles, giving your hair strength and lustre. The surplus of vitamin C in amla can help halt pre-mature greying.
Organic soapnuts (Reetha)
The Reetha liquid makes your hair shinier and softer. It is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal and keeps your scalp free from dandruff and prevents hair loss.
Wildly harvested shikakai (Acacia concinna )
The natural ingredients of shikakai make your hair softer and shiny. The anti-fungal properties of shikakai prevent itching and dryness. If used regularly, shikakai can cure dandruff. Shikakai strengthens hair roots. The result is stronger and healthier hair, with lesser hair fall. Shikakai act as a natural cleanser without washing away essential oils. It can slow down and delay the appearance of grey hair, letting you keep the natural youthfulness of your hair for long.
Homegrown hibiscus (Gudhal )

Citrus enzyme
It’s made from kitchen scraps like orange or lemon scraps. White or brown sugar can be added to it and it also requires active yeast. It acts as a self-preservative. We can use it for dishes and laundry. No chemicals.

MY TAKE ON BACK TO BASICS /FINAL VERDICT
In getting a healthy hair and scalp, I tried this hair pack and cleanser by Raw Beauty (BACK TO BASICS). It totally justifies its name as it has all the basic ingredients that our grandparents used for their hair. Since its chemical free, so it will not lather as much as a ready-made shampoo. Works as magic on a dry scalp. There is a difference between chemically treated beautiful looking hair and natural looking hair.
Patience is the key. Don’t give up after 2 or 3 uses. The transition phase can be difficult, but it’s worth it in the long run. I have seen the difference right from the first use. My hair when naturally dried after using this as a cleanser (used twice as a stand-alone cleanser) was much softer and shiny. But they used to look puffy when I was using my other shampoos.
Now I am mixing it with shampoo to wash. Sometimes I mix it with aloe vera gel or apple cider vinegar and use it as a pack. It’s worth a try if are also thinking to shift to natural hair care.
